On 10th March 2016, national charity Back Up and its guests turned out in style at the beautiful Roof Gardens to celebrate 30 years of supporting people affected by spinal cord injury. An auction held during the dinner raised an astonishing £50,000. Metro Broadcast was invited to film the event and live stream it to LED screens in the Tudor Marquee area.
Jo Sheasby, Event Manager for Back Up said, “Broadcasting the auction live within the room served a practical purpose when it came to addressing sight-line issues but, thanks to Metro’s technical expertise, it also added an element of excitement and pace which contributed to the overall atmosphere and professionalism of the event.”
Back Up welcomed 208 guests to the stylish event, including one of Britain’s best-loved actors, Olivia Colman, who attended the evening with friend and Back Up Trustee, Clair Pollard.
The evening opened with a fashion show with a twist; it included some of Back Up’s own supporters and beneficiaries, who took to the red carpet to model the beautiful eveningwear from designer Aya Couture and CLUB Boutique.
Guests then moved through to the Tudor Marquee space for dinner followed by an auction. Metro provided a camera operator and four LED screens positioned at opposite ends of the marquee which relayed the action live, ensuring everyone in the room had an excellent view and could feel involved in the fundraising element of the event.
Russell Cooke solicitors was the headline sponsor for the event and generous prize donors included Mark Warner Holidays, CH&Co and Ben Sherman.
Summing up, Jo Sheasby said, “The event was a great success and we couldn’t have done it without the support we received from Metro. The team have been an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish and did an incredible job on the night. We’re extremely grateful at Back Up and wouldn’t hesitate to call on their services in the future. A huge thank you from us all.”
