Metro Broadcast Stages ITV Good Morning Britain's Health Star Awards for the Second Year
In 2017, ITV's Good Morning Britain team hosted the Health Star Awards for a second year. The star-studded, afternoon event honoured health workers - nominated by the public - who excel in their roles.
Following an outstanding response from viewers in 2016, the 2017 awards returned bigger and better. Having staged the original event, Metro Broadcast was asked again to produce the staging and set at the 2017 event held at London's elegant Rosewood Hotel. The set needed to be finished to studio standard so that it could be filmed live to camera and broadcast on the following morning's show.
The event was staged in the Rosewood Hotel's Grand Ballroom and it consisted of a raised platform with a high gloss finish and branded flats. A large screen was positioned centrally and rear projection was used to relay VTs and graphics. The event branding and identity, designed by ITV, was recreated by Metro's set designers.
Metro's Project Manager Grant Mitchell said, "The main challenge was to create the kind of atmosphere in the late morning which you can achieve more easily at an evening event, making it feel extra special for the finalists and nominees."
The ceremony comprised five award categories; each nominee's work was presented in a series of VTs shown on a large, central screen before the winners were revealed.
Good Morning Britain's presenters Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway, Charlotte Hawkins, Ranvir Singh and Dr Hilary Jones were all in attendance as well as celebrities Trisha Goddard, Pixie Lott, Fleur East, Larry and George Lamb, Alison Steadman, Kimberley Walsh and Michelle Heaton. Entertainment was provided by tenor Russell Watson and the NHS Choir.
"Having worked with Metro in the past and they were my first choice for the Health Star awards.
They always deliver are competitive on price and are great at problem solving.
I would highly recommend them!"
